After a few tries to try and alter Deus slightly and add more original features than what I shown in the revealed concept of Deus I finally have a model to reference Deus from. This won't be a model I use in animation however as the topology of the model is a little wrong (There be traingles) However this is the first fleshed out model of Deus and gives a clear idea to what he is.

To get from here I started at Chris Sanders style model, however along the way I tried to add my own cartoonish style to it, I like making smooth things with sharp corners at places so I tried to get that in. But here we are Deus. Hope you find him cute.

Deus is an alien species like no other species found on earth, mainly because it has 2 ways of collecting energy. Traditionally life has to directly eat food which is then burned to gain energy. Deus' kind does this but also has a second way of collecting energy since its prey is often rare to find. Within his tail is an organ that acts as an anode, which allows him to directly store electric within his body to use as fuel for a longer time than if food was needed for this process. The electric is stored in a plate like fat that runs atop of his body nicknamed charge fat, this is an under the skin substance then sends the charge where it needs to go. The plate like fat also acts a one of its methods of self defense being very hard it acts a shield from attackers protecting his vital organs. The antennas in his head act as ears, but take in vibrations and those are internally changed into sounds he can recognize, it means he can have problems hearing quiet sounds but due to his kind usually living in groups and in large plains they don't rely on sound a great deal rather sight. Sight is the main sense of Deus and his kind, being able to see much clearer than any human can while also being able to use some of the charge they gain to use a form of night vision however this causes his eyes to glow so they don't use this in self defense, rather just as a evolution they have and use on occasion.

His limbs are large because the weight of the charged fat is heavy and so has evolved with elephant like legs. This does not mean they are slow creatures though able to run nearly as fast as a dog propelling themselves by leaping with their hind legs, unlike dogs this tires them out. They are predatory creatures and feed on the small animals of the Arcane, adopting the tactic of stunning creatures by releasing a small charge from their tails stunning the creature then finishing it off with their claws. Compared with other creatures they barely need to eat feeding maybe 2 times a month on a squirrel sized creature to replenish cells they loose naturally. The Arcanes thunderous environment gives enough energy to keep them going for a while, but with humans arriving with electrical technology some are finding ways to extract power from them instead, keeping close to the colonies the humans have made.

They are usually quite tame creatures, not willing to use charge unless necessary, they avoid conflict with other life, adopting a run away and hide tactic when threatened, even when found the heavy plate and charge fat provides a challenge to a predator. This also makes them hard to find as before Deus none of these creatures had ever been seen by human eye (they had been spotted on camera but no clear image was ever recorded). They are also pretty affectionate to others, and a sign of affection is to spark giving another a little bit of their charge. They are social animals due to wanting to serve each other to survive (Deus has a different story though) and usually would have 2 Pups before passing, once found with a mate, they will not separate until death.

The cheek spikes are an old part of their evolution they do not use anymore. They used to have sort tails so rather than point their tails into the air and hope to catch electric by leaping into it with their face taking the strike, over time this organ moved to the tail and the cheek spikes are nearly useless. Like a human Appendix. The antennae on its head however do have the function to take charge or release it as an attack.

One quirky fact about the blood in Deus' kind is that it changes colour depending upon the mood of them. This is due to pressure and temperature variations within their bodies. They also like the heat, having a body temperature of 45 degrees centigrade they would find human normal conditions cold, this is because the charge is more effective at a warmer temperature.

This is my first concept idea for a character, so if some things don't make sense you could probably put that on a lack of experience, but I tired to make everything make sense for why it was there rather than just looking good... With the exception of cheek spikes because... come on... Zoruas... Toothless... I love things with cheek things! XD but yeah.
